Disney’s Pixie Hollow is No More

Disney’s Pixie Hollow is No More

Blogging Disney has featured the world of Pixie Hollow on three previous occasions.

Tinker Bell

In August 2011, I blogged about the Disney Fairies Magazine and the Disney Fairies Fly mobile app: Tinker Bell and Disney Fairies Magazine.

In September 2011, I promoted the TV premiere and home video release of the Pixie Hollow Games movie with links to online games and contests. Pixie Hollow Games, Contests, and More!

And in July 2013, I gave a detailed review of one of my favorite Disney apps: Disney Fairies Fashion Boutique.

Are you surprised there’s so much happening in the tiny, magical world of Peter Pan’s temperamental fairy sidekick? Don’t be!

Introducing the Garden Fairy Chloe, screenshot from disney.go.com/fairies/

Fans of the Disney Fairies franchise have always known the world of Tinker Bell and her friends is more than just movies, magazines and mobile apps: it’s a vast multiplayer online universe where you can create your own fairy avatar, play games, design fashions and interact with thousands of other Tinker Bell fans.

Err, well…it used to be, anyway.

As it happens, Disney shut down the Pixie Hollow online world in September 2013, just two months after I raved about the Disney Fairies Fashion Boutique app (which I came THISCLOSE to spending real $$$ playing). But on September 19th, Pixie Hollow vanished, and along with it, the Disney Fairies Fashion Boutique app.

What about Disney Fairies Fly and the Disney Fairies Magazine? Are they still around? Nope. All gone. Poof. It’s as if they never existed.

Of course, Disney can delete Pixie Hollow from the internet and remove the games from the App Store, but my blog posts are still online. I didn’t even know Disney purged the Disney Fairies universe until I received several comments from readers who couldn’t find the Fashion Boutique in the App Store. The comments were from angry Fairies fans who loved the fashion boutique app but couldn’t download it on new devices and were unable to recover the game after accidentally deleting the original download.

Pixie Hollow Closed

As a Fashion Boutique fan, the frustrations of other gamers inspired me to investigate the vanishing app. The internet isn’t always the easiest place to find things that no longer exist, but after a fair amount of Googling, I found an FAQ explaining Disney’s purge of Pixie Hollow and its related apps.

Pixie Hollow FAQ

Unfortunately, the FAQ page is a JPG image, making it inaccessible to screen readers and devices without image support, and the text can’t be read and indexed by search engines. To help the distraught Fairies fans who come to Blogging Disney looking for answers, I’ve copied Disney’s official FAQ below.

its been nearly three years and it makes me very angry and sad still that Disney would do this. Petition to bring back pixiehollow, one of the best games anyone can play that Disney took away, now no knew generation can play. thanks a lot for that Disney.

  4. Tia says:

I’m here again. Still checking. It’s still not here.

  5. mitchell says:

I was watching some episodes of pixie hollow with my little sister and we are super sad that the show is cancelled because we really enjoyed it. We love Disney shows so much and all the Disney characters. It’s kind of funny because the other day we ended up watching Walt Before Mickey on Netflix and it was super good! I highly recommend people watch it especially if you are a huge Walt Disney fan. The movie is a biopic about how Walt Disney first started as an animator. It will make you appreciate cartoons like Pixie hollow more just because you will know what Walt when through and you can still see his work still very much alive.

  6. Dawn says:

You may have spent money on Pixie Hollow and so did I but there hundreds and hundreds more who did not and came on the FREE PLAN so Disney was not make the hands over fists of money you think they were. The talk around the Moderators was that Disney should have everyone pay money or they don’t play the game but that never happened and the rest is history.

  7. Bailey says:

Please bring pixie hollow back! It’s been gone for three years and I still come back to this site hoping its here. I think about my friends and my fairy all the time. My little sister use to play with me. We never fought when we had the game. Even if you just open it up, no updates just let us in. I’m begging you.
I understand it cost money but imagine the profit if you open it! So many people have cherish memory’s. Pixie hollow was the ONLY game I spent money on, I spent over a hundred dollars. So please just consider opening it.

  8. danielle says:

ok, where do i start. I played this everyday after school and it was just like a light at the end of a tunnel from a day of school. Once this was discontinued i died. This game was like my life. I had so much fun interacting in the world of Neverland and i dont understand why anyone would want to just end it. Especially with all the people they had on it. They were definitely receiving a good amount on money through this game. It just doesnt make any since. Good job.

  9. Jazzberry says:

Lol every word Caitlyn said Is true. Pixie power! Punch, kick, slap, throws pixie dust, use light magic to blind them, runs away…..

  10. Caitlyn says:

So a web page is better than an online game??? No, it isn’t. My heart was ripped out the day Pixie Hollow left ;-; I’m assuming you chose the web page because it’s easier…., lazy. At first, I actually thought you were running out of money. But it’s actual because your lazy. People were enraged by this and you guys didn’t bother to pull it back. 3 slaps and a kick for you -_-

  11. Liv says:

I cant belive it! im 11 now and i still am dying to play it again! one day i just woke up and poof! pixie hollow was gone forever. i want it back! 🙁 please, bring it back!

  12. Liv says:

  13. Dawn says:

We all remember the Pixie Hollow that closed its doors three years ago. That Pixie Hollow was to say the least amazing. Wind Muddle’s FairyABC has everything that was once part of the Pixie Hollow we remember. Most of what you see on ABC does not work yet and some may never but clearly Disney it letting Wind Muddle use its material provided he does not charge an money then you could see ABC shut down very fast. Disney is saving “BIG” money by letting Wind Muddle bring back Pixie Hollow but the quality is not as good. So it is my opinion that Disney and Wind Muddle are in bed together but how long ABC stays active is anyones guess. Even now I have heard people complaining that it is not even close to Pixie Hollow from 2013. Time will tell I guess.

  14. Tracy says:

THIS IS BULL!!!!!!!!!! My Daughter loved this game it was one of her favorites. Shame on you.

  15. Jazzberry says:

I haven’t been here in ages and I am happy that people are still missing it even in 2016. I’m 18 now and even though I have a college to worry about I still can’t seem to stop thinking about pixie hollow. I met some awesome friends there and now some of them I was able to find them but others are lost forever. Let’s be honest, does anything seem real after 2012? It seems like it’s the end of the world

  16. amy says:

you are right down we must, i hope Windmuddle is fine by the way. i tried the fairy abc but itdidnt work the said: “this is pixie hollow fans…” blablabla and no other fairy abc site worked for me. and even if it did it wont be completly nice like you said. now, i guess we could wait for Windmuddle’s pixie hollow, i wish it comes up with a good result, if it does, he or she is my or our hero.

  17. Dawn says:

Ella you expected instant Pixie Hollow magic ? Keep in mind Wind Muddle is walking a very fine line putting what he can in this PH but it takes time and yes the quality is no where near to Disney’s Pixie Hollow. I have said before “Disney” will never bring back Pixie Hollow but others can but will never be the same. You should be grateful we have anything after three years.

  18. ella says:

Fairy abc , sadly is a total bust. They still have a lot of work to do on it. Nobody on it it seems everywhere is empty there are major glitches everywhere! don’t bother trying it

  19. amy says:

right right right!! it is! Club penguin is cheap! very cheap! AND FOR REAL I DONT KNOW THEY STILL HAVE IT! DOES DISNEY WANT TO BE LIKE THAT? DOES IT WANT TO BE CHEAP??!!?! Whatever it is, i stoped watching Disney movies and going to those disney “fun” sites. I am now, or WE ALL now are with windmuddle and ALL against the mospy1090 or whatever it is, and i … just, goodbye.

  20. Katie says:

Disney, I remember playing this game or hours when i was little. I am now 14, about to be 15 and miss it as much as i use to when it shut down. Its such a shame, I remember giving my friends the website and making new friends on this game. It was the best game disney ever created in my opinion. I really wish disney would bring it back because thousands of girls and boys miss it so much. Including me. I will wait however long it takes for it to hopefully get started back up again. I dont understand why such a GREAT game had to be such down. I will always remember it.

  21. Bella says:

i know it has been three years from now but i still cry that the games is gone but i use to play that game all day long. i was so happy playing that game and then one day i whit on Pixie hollow it said vote if you wont Pixie hollow me and my sisters press vote to save Pixie hollow i wish that pixie hollow was still on. Pixie Hollow plz come back to the world PLZ DISNEY WE WONT IT BACK PLZ DISNEY PLZ.

  22. Grace Flutterriver says:

I know its been three years.. But still! If it takes another three years for Pixie Hollow to open I WILL WAIT along with the other fairies and sparrow men! They said the removed Pixie Hollow because they wanted to fix other games, but HAVE YOU SEEN Club Penguins GRAPHICS? Those are the cheapest things money can buy and for DISNEY?! I’m sure that everyone here would rather have Pixie Hollow then some cheap penguin game where you cant even get anything unless you are VIP or member or whatever!

Ok, so I know I sound super angry. Even though Pixie Hollow is closed, there are still some games pretty close and I play them all the time.
    Roblox- Roleplay game
Manyland- Everything is free, basically unlimited in every criteria
Moviestarplanet- Sort of a 4 star game, but you know its good I guess.

And I guess minecraft too but everyone has minecraft right? Anyways, hope this helped.

  23. amy says:

Wow that was very… Hart attaking! I wasn’t here for a long time for a lot of reasons. Anyway I am back now and I heard everything. I don’t have time now to write a lot I am on my phone you know what happend the last time I used it so I can’t say more. I will give you my message tommorow so just wait bye

  24. Niknok says:

Know it was ages ago when it closed. Still looking for it 🙁

  25. Natalie says:

This is bullcrap I have playing it since I was 4 or 5 years old, and now I am going into Middle School . . .
And Wuddya know! Its STILL GONE! I still search for it everyday and when it is not there I burst into
tears! (LITERALLY!) I don’t get why they turn their attention straight from the most fun and popular
MMORPG game loved by all, and straight to the most worthless games they were able to muster up in
past! (mainly club penguin!!)If and when it comes back I will literally scream my head off, kiss my laptop and, break out in song all at once, on the spot! I don’t care about disney’s little fairy minigames,
I don”t care about Disney’s little excuses, I don’t care about games that are “SIMILAR’

  26. Susan says:

All you need is faith and trust and a little but of pixie dust -tinker bell

Disney taught us to have faith and trust and yet they take the most amazing game ever from us! I am soo angry!

  27. Ashely says:

Guys go use Fairy a b c. The New PixieHollow Its still on the works though. My name is AshelyDappleBreeze Cya there! Pixie Hollow may not come back but we got Fairy A b c!

  28. hdhs says:

    this stinks

  29. orchid says:

i’d been playing Pixie Hollow from a very young age and now am about to turn 18. i was really upset when they shut down the hollow, as i’d spent countless hours online making friends and truly becoming attached to my fairy. it was a treasure of an online game, and i cant believe they shut it down. such a shame. i still have hope though, and i miss my fairy. i dont see why we are unable to access our fairies or sparrow men.

  30. Sarah says:

Guys since pixie hollow might not come back why not look at other games….like the sims 4 or idk. Trust me I became much happier and less depressed when I explored other games.

    Brave (ps3)

I am about to send off a hand written letter to disney interactive studios and schell games to bring back pixie hollow, who were the developers of the game. their addresses are “1200 Grand Central Ave, Glendale, CA 91201” for disney interactive studios, and “200 West Station Square Drive Suite 200, Pittsburgh PA 15219”. whoever reads this, please please do the same, their contact emails are not working and they will not call you back if you call them. we all understand each other’s love for the game, and theres a petition to sign here: https://www.change.org/p/the-walt-disney-company-bring-pixie-hollow-back-7c70b0d3-c33d-4797-937e-2b8a0f64d11c but i recommend you to sign and write the letter in order to bring back the game. i am so heartbroken for all the girls that have already missed the opportunity that we were able to experience, please dont ignore this message you guys! we can all come together to make this dream into a reality. —now 16 year old, Carnation Eveningshine and Nutmeg; grand prize winner of the How Will You Train art competition

  33. Rose says:

I’m in the same boat as Angie rn, I’m 15, and still miss the game. I was so disappointed to see it get shut down. I’m trying to find something similar but with no luck. And there’s no way I’m resorting to club penguin, fairies are much better than fat, flightless birds, lol. I’m hoping someone may be able to recreate the game. I understand though. Cell phones are growing in popularity in younger kids while us teens sit on our laptops missing our childhood games. Can’t make everyone happy.

  34. the old Jade LoveHeart says:

here guys i found this. lol im a 14 y/o girl that cried when it shut down in 2013

  35. kelly says:

I will not be interested into Disney if you don’t give it back, I will support Disney again if you give it back, I will give many thanks!

  36. amber lovelyberry says:

If you want to know how the conversation between me and mopsy went… Check my Facebook… It’s pretty nasty! (Amber lovelyberry)

  37. amber lovelyberry says:

I found a video from YouTube about pixie hollow coming back by wind middle but someone reported windmuddle to disney.

It’s that annoying guy/girl who claims he worked in disney and he is the one that always talks negatively about ph in every pizie hollow video on YouTube
    Her/his name is mopsy
    1901
His profile picture is a picture of a 40 something year old man. Like why would he ruin little guys and girls dreams. Ughhh he bugs me and my brother!

He reported windmuddle to disney and this is what they told him.

After I reported wind muddle I got this from Disney. Enjoy. Thank you for your continued correspondence. We want you to know that we very much appreciate the time you took to bring this matter to our attention. We protect our intellectual property rights vigorously and we take reports of suspected infringements very seriously. However, as you can appreciate, our investigations are confidential. But it was back in January so maybe they let it go… Who knows. But my bro and I hate him so much!

  38. amber lovelyberry says:

    I’m soo exited! Can’t wait.

  39. Jazzberry says:

I guess, all games have issues but at least I’m old enough to understand them. If I was a kid I would probably be disapointed but I really do understand.

Also me and my sister made an account on Facebook called Amber lovelyberry for anyone who wants to add us 🙂

  40. Dawn says:

You do understand that it won’t be exactly like Pixie Hollow was and there might be server issues like only a few people can log in at a time or the more that do log in will slow it down.

  41. Jazzberry says:

Is it true? Wind middle will recreate the game!!! I’m soo happy! I gotta tell my sis she will freak out. Hope this works and please keep me updated. I’m glad to see someone is trying… Especially a sparrow man. I just hope that sparrow man will be included in the new game… If not then I have no problem creating a fairy. As long as I can play it than that is all I want 🙂
I’m literally crying and hoping that this works 🙂

  42. Dawn says:

Jessie the petition is closed and you can see they only got 1,000 plus a few signatures no where near 5,000 which as far as we know would have meant nothing to Disney as they never listen to petitions. The best chance so far is Wind Muddle (check my post for the facebook link) as he is very close.

  43. Jazzberry says:

Dawn idk what you sent, I don’t have face book.

On another note how about watching this episode. It’s awesome and might get your mind off pizie hollow until it comes back or if it comes back…

    http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2lhfxz

Also get a book called “pixie hollow paint day” I read it and it’s awesome!

  47. Sara says:
