Make Your Mark Returns Summer 2012!

Last summer, the Disney Channel hosted the wildly popular kids-only dance competition, Make Your Mark: Ultimate Dance Off: Shake It Up Edition. More than 28,000 audition videos were submitted online and six talented finalists were chosen. The finalists competed in a professionally-choreographed dance event telecast live on the Disney Channel, and the winners, a team of four dancers named AKSquared, were featured as spotlight dancers on an episode of Shake It Up.

Disney Channel: State by State

Disney Channel: State by State

Did you know that most Disney Channel original series are shot on production studios in Hollywood and Los Angeles, California? California may be the center of film and television production in America, but it’s not where most of the shows actually take place. Disney Channel’s west coast sets stand in for diverse locations throughout the United States, including New York City, Washington D.C., and Chicago.

Who Will Win the Ultimate Dance Off?

Who Will Win the Ultimate Dance Off?

Earlier tonight the Disney Channel aired the premiere of Make Your Mark: The Ultimate Dance Off ‘Shake It Up’ Edition. The six semi-finalists (Amir, Arjang, Jade, AKsquared, Christine and June, and Casey and Sam) showed off their best dance moves for celebrity judges Selena Gomez, Sean Kingston, Rosero McCoy, and millions of Disney Channel viewers.

For two hours after the event, fans were able to vote up to 5 times by text and 5 times online for their favorite contestants. I have had trouble getting onto the official Make Your Mark website to cast my vote, which makes me think that Disney’s website wasn’t prepared to handle a huge jump in traffic from excited fans eager to vote online.
