Disney’s Pixie Hollow is No More
Blogging Disney has featured the world of Pixie Hollow on three previous occasions.
In August 2011, I blogged about the Disney Fairies Magazine and the Disney Fairies Fly mobile app: Tinker Bell and Disney Fairies Magazine.
In September 2011, I promoted the TV premiere and home video release of the Pixie Hollow Games movie with links to online games and contests. Pixie Hollow Games, Contests, and More!
And in July 2013, I gave a detailed review of one of my favorite Disney apps: Disney Fairies Fashion Boutique.

Fans of the Disney Fairies franchise have always known the world of Tinker Bell and her friends is more than just movies, magazines and mobile apps: it’s a vast multiplayer online universe where you can create your own fairy avatar, play games, design fashions and interact with thousands of other Tinker Bell fans.
Err, well…it used to be, anyway.
As it happens, Disney shut down the Pixie Hollow online world in September 2013, just two months after I raved about the Disney Fairies Fashion Boutique app (which I came THISCLOSE to spending real $$$ playing). But on September 19th, Pixie Hollow vanished, and along with it, the Disney Fairies Fashion Boutique app.

What about Disney Fairies Fly and the Disney Fairies Magazine? Are they still around? Nope. All gone. Poof. It’s as if they never existed.
Of course, Disney can delete Pixie Hollow from the internet and remove the games from the App Store, but my blog posts are still online. I didn’t even know Disney purged the Disney Fairies universe until I received several comments from readers who couldn’t find the Fashion Boutique in the App Store. The comments were from angry Fairies fans who loved the fashion boutique app but couldn’t download it on new devices and were unable to recover the game after accidentally deleting the original download.
As a Fashion Boutique fan, the frustrations of other gamers inspired me to investigate the vanishing app. The internet isn’t always the easiest place to find things that no longer exist, but after a fair amount of Googling, I found an FAQ explaining Disney’s purge of Pixie Hollow and its related apps.
Unfortunately, the FAQ page is a JPG image, making it inaccessible to screen readers and devices without image support, and the text can’t be read and indexed by search engines. To help the distraught Fairies fans who come to Blogging Disney looking for answers, I’ve copied Disney’s official FAQ below.

This site has been around since 2013 and it means nothing. The .au stands for Australia and it does not mean Pixie Hollow is returning cause like I said its been around like forever.

It bugs me when some says go to such and such and don’t provide a link to what they are talking. Is it an old link or a new link is the link from say Australia or Great Briton as these links can give the impression of PH coming back when they are not. So provide this link you have to PH.

but also i have an app (not for computers of course) called ”fashion story” for girls (but it can be for boys if they enjoy it) and it is really fun. it’s like you create yourself and start a business with fashion with your very own boutique that you can decorate and make it the best. you can also visit other boutiques where you can be their friends (by stormie 8), like their fashions, send gifts, write on their walls when you also can get that. it is really fun for me and so i hope it is for you! you know more when you install it.

you are right down, in every word you say. we alllllllllllllllllll miss P.H so much, and it was and still is the best like you said, but we all have to face the truth, P.H like we know, is never coming back. i know it’s the first time i say this but we can’t change anything so lets all be hopeful and serious at the meantime and enjoy are present life and try to forget the pain and build a new fresh better future. isn’t it?
It is very sad. The longer I go with out Pixie Hollow the more I miss it……….. yessssssss Dawn misses Pixie Hollow as it does always seem like I am always saying PH won’t be coming back because of Disney s business plan. Even though I know it won’t be back by Disney I still miss it with all me heart. Pixie Hollow was and still is the BEST !!!
you mean you never played pixie hollow longiraffe? oh, then you have missed a LOT of fun… for Jakaffi i know what you mean, and for the others, you are all right that Disney made a huge mistake shutting down pixie hollow, it really was a good message like you said Jakaffi, it was more than just an online game! and more than anything else (almost everything)! you know? sometimes i think about starting a war between us (the fairies/sparrow mans of P.H) and all the persons that were behind the closing. -angry-.
People getting fired, business, security, what ever are the reasons of closing P.H IT IS NOT OUR FAULT! AND THEY WILL BETTER BRING IT BACK BEFORE I’LL… i’ll… -sights- i can’t do anything to them.
But instead of thinking of P.H all the time, i wondered if i will find any other virtual worlds like P.H. i started to search and i found some. the most of know this one, it’s Animal jam, but i didn’t really like it because it was difficult to sign in and it was… you know, ANIMALS! i don’t like animals much… , i found another virtual world called ”WoozWorld”, it looked fun and i was exited to start playing it for FREE 😀 , but it was unable to sign in… i didn’t know how, it was always taking me to other sites and the sign in button DID NOT WORK! i found other games and worlds but there was always a problem. that’s why they should not close pixie hollow.

I am so upset i am a little kid i have waited and waited for almost 2 years and i don’t think it’s coming back. I remember i used to love to play on pixie hollow then one day my mom said how about playing on pixie hollow then my mom say that it shut down and i cried for about 2 hours.
Wow, I was curious to see how this game had grown, only to find out it was shut down over three years ago. I was one of the original group of people who tested this game for the first time. We were the ones who found the bugs and helped create/build the chat filters and moderate in game when it first went online. It was actually fun and created a great social learning environment for kids, it’s sad to see it go the way of the dodo. I also helped with Pirates of the Caribbean Online and a personal favorite, ToonTown Online (taken offline around the same time Pixie Hollow came online). Fun times, but big corp Disney is just doing what big corps do unfortunately.
Yes it is very clear Disney made a colossal mistake shutting down Pixie Hollow. Near the end I remember all the younger Fairies I helped as best I could. All of them wanted to be friends but as a mod I didn’t feel that was appropriate so I always declined so as t not take sides. We must always remember the good times.
Tried sending it before but it didn’t work, anyway the more pixie hollow is gone the more my good memories turns into bad. Know what I mean? Rip Jay berrysomething (my sparrow man) and newt moon something (my sister’s fairy)
Unlike most games where it’s all about war. PH has a good message. (Friendship,trust,be yourself, freedom, and creativity) just awesome game that cannot be forgotten. If disney really is all about the bussiness then they made a mistake. Cause PH was one of the most successful games of their whole games. Seriously? You bring back toontown but not PH!

i am feeling the same to Jakaffi. And for Down, i guess you are right for the Disney choices for petitions, 100 signs will not be enough to drive them back to re-open pixie hollow, but still we won’t loose anything if we tried, who knows? maybe if they think twice they will make a good decision (like re-opening P.H). And about ToonTown re-opening, ”why?” was my question that time, but when i have done my research i found that T.T re-opening wasn’t made from Disney, it was from a fan of it, and so that was a clue that P.H will not re-open ( but it might…).
For memories… i do remember once i was in P.H at the pet shop, i just went to check out new stuff there, i don’t know how but i was fighting with a fairy ( the 3 world war) in front of many other pixies, i pretended in the end that she hurt my feelings so i ran away, i did that because i didn’t realize that i was around many pixies (got embarrassed) for the first time.
I also remember when i used to go to parties with no invitation like almost every one does.
And i do remember the first time someone named Rose sended to me a gift with new member clothes that i loved it so much, i wasn’t a member so it was REALLY HARD to buy something new. i only had in my wardrobe: -tops:4 -bottoms:4 -belts:4 -shoes:4 -headpieces:1 That’s all.
I would hazard a guess that any petition that Disney might look at would have to have 100,000 or more legitimate signatures before it would ever consider bring PH back. I am sure Disney does not even open them as they come in. The one started in Sept 2013 which to date got the most signatures did nothing. If your petition does well and is instrumental in bring back Pixie Hollow then wow and fantastic .. I just see it happening when dealing with Disney. Good luck.

First, I was bored out of my mind, so, I decided to play PH.
Then, I threw a party and my house was so FULL! nobody else could come into it.
After that, I went on an adventure, I don’t remember which one though.
I kept playing and I won so many fruits and nuts and berry’s.
What I like most about PH is that we got to add our own touch, and if you didn’t like the color you could go to the dye place and change it. My cousin and I would play for hours, i say that almost every time. But it was so exciting. I also like how we could get pets and play with them. And we could say our favorite things on our profile page. I like your idea Amy, it’s helping get things off our chest, well mine at lest

Jakaffi I appreciate that there might be others out there willing to risk copying Disney’s copy righted material. Wind Muddle comes to mind and from what I hear he was reported as Disney has a tip line. That is right a tip line does that sound like someone who does not care if their property is copied, Disney is famous for defending its property…. its copy rights. You and I may ask why would they care so much and its because it is their property and if it was your property and others were making any kind of money off it and not giving you any you would be upset. Disney is very protective of their property and have dozens of lawyers all ready to go after any small fry who wants to use their material. Disney has always been like an I see no reason why they would not shut down anyone willing to use their property.

I loved doing the mission thing with other faries.
And going into the maze to test my light powers.
And playing the song to the animals to help them sleep.
And helping birds fly.
And siting in the tea room with other faries and playing games and drinking tea.
I love that I met other boys in the game because I thought I was the only one who played it and kinda actually felt imbarrased.
I love that you can add in your profile your favourite things like fav color fav food and stuff!
And I loved acting and seeing the theatre
I loved shopping and testing new clothes.
I loved getting invited to fairies house to play party games.
And most importantly I loved for the first time getting along with my sister.
I really wish more than anything to have this game back. My sister got married and is a mom now and she is still missing the game.
Amy there is no evidence that Disney is bring back Pixie Hollow and I fear you are only seeing what your heart wants to see. We all want Pixie Hollow back that is the one thing we all share here. There are many videos out there expressing their own desires to have PH back and the dates on many of them several years back but does not make then any truer to day.
i think pixie hollow was closed because of UPDATING! 😀 , and all of these clues i gave you is telling us that. that’s why i guess we just have to wait untill the new P.H comes. See you there! 😀 😀 ;,) -crying of happiness (lol)-

”Hey… Remember about the old Pixie Hollow? And Pixie Hollow started to change, people started to demand their old Hollow back..? And the moderators said they couldn’t..? What if they only said no because it would take long period time, and that’s why they shut down Pixie Hollow…? What if they are trying to get the old Hollow back using these months..? Idk if this is true or not. But sadly, there is a good chance of it never reopening again.

It says the domain name expires May 2016, so I hope they have the files backed up somewhere. It would be sad to see all that lovely artwork and games gone and unusable in any new Disney Fairies games. In terms of it reopening, that fact is making it seem very unlikely, but if they do, look out for the domain name contract expiration changing to a future date. They are making a live action Tink movie that is releasing next year so that is our only hope for a possible revival at this time.

I almost got kidnapped though when I was 7, luckily I was a smart for a kid. I remembered my mom telling me don’t trust strangers and I also remembered the story of red riding hood. I told the man “no thanks I don’t want a ride home, my home is close from here” he said “I insist, get in the damn car!!” I told him ” NO, don’t let me call the cops” he drove away and I never saw him since. Be careful guys!!! I honestly have met some of my friends on ph and they are nice people but they wernt strangers cause I know them IRL. Lol. Sorry off topic lol! If disney shut ph because of the kidnap then they are wrong! I think the girl was clueless and her parents should’ve talked to her about strangers.
It’s true Amy, I’m a guy and I’m very careful about who I talk to because they might be killers. You should always be careful whether it’s real life or ph. I hope she is okay though!
