Disney’s Pixie Hollow is No More
Blogging Disney has featured the world of Pixie Hollow on three previous occasions.
In August 2011, I blogged about the Disney Fairies Magazine and the Disney Fairies Fly mobile app: Tinker Bell and Disney Fairies Magazine.
In September 2011, I promoted the TV premiere and home video release of the Pixie Hollow Games movie with links to online games and contests. Pixie Hollow Games, Contests, and More!
And in July 2013, I gave a detailed review of one of my favorite Disney apps: Disney Fairies Fashion Boutique.

Fans of the Disney Fairies franchise have always known the world of Tinker Bell and her friends is more than just movies, magazines and mobile apps: it’s a vast multiplayer online universe where you can create your own fairy avatar, play games, design fashions and interact with thousands of other Tinker Bell fans.
Err, well…it used to be, anyway.
As it happens, Disney shut down the Pixie Hollow online world in September 2013, just two months after I raved about the Disney Fairies Fashion Boutique app (which I came THISCLOSE to spending real $$$ playing). But on September 19th, Pixie Hollow vanished, and along with it, the Disney Fairies Fashion Boutique app.

What about Disney Fairies Fly and the Disney Fairies Magazine? Are they still around? Nope. All gone. Poof. It’s as if they never existed.
Of course, Disney can delete Pixie Hollow from the internet and remove the games from the App Store, but my blog posts are still online. I didn’t even know Disney purged the Disney Fairies universe until I received several comments from readers who couldn’t find the Fashion Boutique in the App Store. The comments were from angry Fairies fans who loved the fashion boutique app but couldn’t download it on new devices and were unable to recover the game after accidentally deleting the original download.
As a Fashion Boutique fan, the frustrations of other gamers inspired me to investigate the vanishing app. The internet isn’t always the easiest place to find things that no longer exist, but after a fair amount of Googling, I found an FAQ explaining Disney’s purge of Pixie Hollow and its related apps.
Unfortunately, the FAQ page is a JPG image, making it inaccessible to screen readers and devices without image support, and the text can’t be read and indexed by search engines. To help the distraught Fairies fans who come to Blogging Disney looking for answers, I’ve copied Disney’s official FAQ below.

Pixie Hollow accounts have now been automatically closed, and can no longer be accessed.
Guests with paid Memberships should have received an email with information about their Membership including refund details. If you have any additional billing-related questions, please contact us at billing@pixiehollow.com or (877) 787-4943. Billing support will no longer be available after November 18, 2013.
Disney Fairies Fashion Boutique has also been removed from the App Store as of September 19, 2013.

Petitions do not work on Disney as its a business they are running and sinking tons of money into bring Pixie Hollow back is not on their to do list.

Dawn? Weird question I know, but when you were on PH, did you ever have a friend named Charlotte Snowbell? I had a friend Dawn on PH when I was on there. Still think of her to this day xD
ive been thinking about this game all day for some reason, me and my best friend used to play it everyday. i started my account in 2009 when i was 9 and now im 16 and i think about all the memories i had on there and how much fun it was. im thinking that they began the website to promote the Tinkerbell movie that came out in 2008, and they ended it because they had no use for it anymore. but still, they shouldnt have removed it because it was a very successful website and im sure they made a lot of money off it. but oh well, it is what it is.
i loved that game i stilll remeber when i first created me fairy and got to choose a “element” and have that disney was dumb to close it i miss it and they should bring it BACK! :'(

I think it was not a good idea to shut down pixie hollow. U got to create your own fairy and they have powers in the game. Bring it back
As you kids get older you will understand better……….. the Pixie Hollow closure was only a business decision, they don’t do things at Disney by following the heart they make business decisions which clearly you do not understand but in time you will understand. If you want Pixie Hollow to return you not them have to come up with a viable business plan. If your Father is Bill Gates and he is willing to fund a new Pixie Hollow then maybe Disney might be interested but I still wouldn’t hold my breath as Disney has more money than even Bill Gates.
the people that had closed it literally made me cry, and the things they dont know is that over 100 people play that and thats how we mainly make friends in the virtual world. i need them to bring it back i see people found websites for it but it doesnt exist by the time i get on it.
their is a back up game i use for this its called animal jam but its not that close to being like it. I MISS PIXIEEEE
The cold hard fact of life is Disney deleted Pixie Hollow as per its plans back in 2007/2008. They said all along PH would close and it has and Disney has moved on with life as should we. We all love(ed) Pixie Hollow and its memory will live on in each of us but its gone. I miss PH just as much as any of you but I don’t understand why many of you just can’t except it and move on.
Im now 13 and kept thinking of this game all today. Now the tears start. I remember all the fun times i had, playing this game on a giant computer. I wish they bring it back, i haven’t been on since I was 6 lol. Yep…Today isn’t my best day 🙁
I played pixie hollow for the longest time…i was addicted to be honest but i haven’t been on in a while and i went to go on today and realized the shut it down !!!! I was sooooooooooooooo mad my childhood is gone!!!!
Disney said from the very start that Pixie Hollow would have a run time and then it would closed so they were clear from 2007/2008..very clear. Pixie Hollow was just one of many business ventures and was always slated to close. Please answer me this … just how long was Disney suppose to keep PH open for your convenience….how long ….. 10 years………… 15 years……….. 20 years so your grand kids could play it as well. Disney is a business and they made a business decision (right or wrong) and they made it and now they have moved on with indication that they are even considering the idea of bring back Pixie Hollow.
PIXIE HOLLOW WAS MY CHILDHOOD!! I had created a fairy on here before the online world even existed. I played on it all the time. No words can explain how important it was to me… My friends and I always spent time with each other online when we couldn’t se each other in person. The game brought me much closer with them. Disney was extremely stupid for taking it away. This hasn’t benefited them at all. From what I know, there were tons of members which means disney was already also making money from the website so why on earth would they close it! I really hope they reactivate our account and let us play again.
I loveddd PixieHollow!!!!!! I used to play it all the time and had sooo much fun! its a shame they took it down for no good reason. They need to bring it back so I can recall my childhood in full detail… T ^ T

Sadly Disney has moved on and they have no plans to re-open Pixie Hollow. It was always meant to close and it has and they have moved on as we all will sooner or later.
im so mad. i am 13 and i had not been on the site in a LONG time and i was just trying to go on today because i wanted to make an account for my 8 year old sister and i just found out its gone!! i was so sad because i remember that i loved making fairies and buying clothes. bring it back!!

Pixie Hollow closing was never about the money as Disney is worth 179 Billion bucks…not millions but Billions. I am sure if they wanted to go for a loan no bank in their right mind would say no to Disney so to imply that Pixie Hollow closed because of money problems is just 100% crazy.

i loved pixiehollow.com! everyday since i was in grade 2, i played it as soon as i got home! im in grade 10 now, and i would still play it to this day, i loved that game dearly. please bring it back! my little sister who is 8 years old is really missing out:(
