Disney’s Pixie Hollow is No More
Blogging Disney has featured the world of Pixie Hollow on three previous occasions.
In August 2011, I blogged about the Disney Fairies Magazine and the Disney Fairies Fly mobile app: Tinker Bell and Disney Fairies Magazine.
In September 2011, I promoted the TV premiere and home video release of the Pixie Hollow Games movie with links to online games and contests. Pixie Hollow Games, Contests, and More!
And in July 2013, I gave a detailed review of one of my favorite Disney apps: Disney Fairies Fashion Boutique.

Fans of the Disney Fairies franchise have always known the world of Tinker Bell and her friends is more than just movies, magazines and mobile apps: it’s a vast multiplayer online universe where you can create your own fairy avatar, play games, design fashions and interact with thousands of other Tinker Bell fans.
Err, well…it used to be, anyway.
As it happens, Disney shut down the Pixie Hollow online world in September 2013, just two months after I raved about the Disney Fairies Fashion Boutique app (which I came THISCLOSE to spending real $$$ playing). But on September 19th, Pixie Hollow vanished, and along with it, the Disney Fairies Fashion Boutique app.

What about Disney Fairies Fly and the Disney Fairies Magazine? Are they still around? Nope. All gone. Poof. It’s as if they never existed.
Of course, Disney can delete Pixie Hollow from the internet and remove the games from the App Store, but my blog posts are still online. I didn’t even know Disney purged the Disney Fairies universe until I received several comments from readers who couldn’t find the Fashion Boutique in the App Store. The comments were from angry Fairies fans who loved the fashion boutique app but couldn’t download it on new devices and were unable to recover the game after accidentally deleting the original download.
As a Fashion Boutique fan, the frustrations of other gamers inspired me to investigate the vanishing app. The internet isn’t always the easiest place to find things that no longer exist, but after a fair amount of Googling, I found an FAQ explaining Disney’s purge of Pixie Hollow and its related apps.
Unfortunately, the FAQ page is a JPG image, making it inaccessible to screen readers and devices without image support, and the text can’t be read and indexed by search engines. To help the distraught Fairies fans who come to Blogging Disney looking for answers, I’ve copied Disney’s official FAQ below.

I will deeply miss Pixie Hollow, I was not much for the game at first due to it being kind of a girly game, however as my bordom grew I would turn to pixie hollow and it would always be there. I quite enjoyed it, as well as my house. It will forever hold a place in my heart.

I can still remember the delay the closing had that day. I was so excited. I though “Hey, maybe they decided to keep this place open” then a few minutes later I remember seeing the “Server not reached, please reload or try again later.”
I cried on that day. I wouldn’t say I cried like a baby, nabies don’t have the lung capacity to do what I did. But actually I’m here to give Yall some hope. Although you may not be able to use your old fairy, you can recreate them in the British version of the game. Its not the same as the original. Not near it. But it’s a good reminder of what we all once had. You can create a fairy and a home, but you can’t explore PH. I guess it’s better than nothing.

I love how people are still commenting on this forum, even years after it closed. Pixie Hollow was my childhood. All together my grandma spent over $400 on that game. I wish I would’ve never listened to those girls who bullied me. They said that it was for babies. But I was only 8! Now as a 14 year old, I would do anything to have it back. I was diagnosed with major depressive disorder, and my therapist suspects that the closing of Pixie Hollow is why. I am still very very sad that it is gone. But, the closing has made me realize that I should be my own person instead of following the crowd (like I did in Pixie Hollow). If Disney EVER brought it back, I would cry my soul out & thank them over and over again.
Oh, gosh. I loved this game, it was my life. Suddenly, it was gone, with no explanation, and with it vanished all my work, the love I if poured into my characters…and my friends. Now, those wonderful people I met will be forever inaccessible to me, and I still mourn their loss. However, I can’t imagine there’s much hope now, but if Disney brings it back, I’ll forgive them for everything!
When just when will Pixi Hollow come back i know its from 2013 but i loved that game….Disney please bring it back even if its like 4 years just please thats all i ask Fly on!
I haven’t played this game in forever, but I tried to find it last night, and it was gone. I saw this today and read it ,and cried. THIS IS TERRIBLE!!! I hope they bring it back.

Don’t get me wrong nothing in this world would make me happier than to have Pixie Hollow back. I would LOVE to proved as wrong as wrong could be but I just don’t see it coming from Disney. Once they make a decision they stick to it mainly because it was just a business decision to them nothing more nothing less. The only Pixie Hollow we are likely to see is a fan recreation like toontown but nothing from Disney. Tinker Bell movies have run their course and unless Disney reboots it I can’t see them doing PH again.
Lol dawn you sound just like mopsy and even have the same name as her. Either way I repspect your opinion as my mom thinks the same as you. But my sister and I haven’t given up just yet. Saved or not saved we want it back! Even if we have to start a new fairy all over again. Also I think our accounts are saved because I used that very same account to play club penguin. Which means that it still might be saved.

Closed to Disney is just a polite way of saying deleted as it would cost them loads money to store that much information. Those Pixie Hollow serves were more than likely rented during PH’s run and to keep them running to save info……….. well who pays for that electric bill ..oh lets see Disney would pay for it.

Automatically closed – not deleted. No where have I ever seen an answers saying they deleted our profiles. It’s still out there pixies. I believe that.
The PH spirit hasn’t died – there’s a blogging community still up and running today – the PBC: Pixie Blogging Community. I invite you to join us. After nearly three years we’re still running strong. Not everyone has given up yet.

Pixie hollow is apart of me and now I have barely anything to do for fun… Of course I’m with you every step of the way in the fight! Count my sis and her son too! We really miss it! Really coming back? I really want my son to experience the fun I had in pixie hollow. He only played the game for a month until it closed. He started crying but then eventually stopped, but I’m crying to this very day because I played the game ever since it was created. I Saw the comments below and I see that my brother lost hope, well I havent. I’ve been contacting disney and signing petiotions to this day, but so far NOTHING.
Any plans on bringing pixie hollow back? And what’s all this rumor about pixie hollow coming back… It says on thier website “fly back soon as the pixies will come back soon” ???!?!!!?
Edit: it turns out that mopsy was a pixie hollow player. She/he had a fairy named dawn something… Lol. Always forget the last names! I wonder why she became so….. Negetive about pixie hollow after it shut down… Remember guys and girls! That of pixie hollow have taught us anything. It’s to be kind and brave like a pixie. “Have faith dust and pixie dust” – tinker bell and always help a friend out when needed. Just because pixie hollow is gone doesn’t mean that your fairy/sparrow man is gone, they are still with us because they kinda are based off of us right? (Idk if I made sence lol) anyways Ive been watching these pixie hollow videos and I noticed not one sparrow man in the game. Like we’re they drinking tea or something right before pixie hollow shut down. I know that in the early pixie hollow there wernt any sparrow men, only fairies. They were added later on as the game expanded. So what happened to them before the shut down? I mean I was kinda present at that time and still I see no sparrow man in these videoes. But anyways just my concern lol. Lol i still remember the faries that were at cotton field place.

There is a video where you and Dawn are in it!! In the comment section there is someone named mopsy1901 I think I spelled it wrong, but anyways ignore that person. Because he/she is in every pixie hollow video in YouTube trying to get fans to lose hope on pixie hollow. He/she also claims that he/she worked in disney and he/she helped in the making of pixie hollow ( i don’t belive him/her by the way). Mopsy1901 is in all the video trying to dislike every pixie hollow video. I’ve even seen her/him swear in all the coment sections of pixie hollow video trying to get people to lose hope and mopsy even told them they were child piece of … Lol I’m not allowed to swear but he/shy said that to someone just because the person is still believing in pixie hollow. (Btw the he/she part is all mopsy1901) I hate her/him like what the hell is an ex disney worker Doing in the comment section of the pixie hollow video swearing at little girls and boys for believing in something. Off Topic but I’m reading this awesome book called “pixie hollow paint day” you should all read it if you can find it. I bought it around the time of my pixie hollow days. It’s awesome!
Sooner or later Any you will see the reality of things but I guess it will be later. I said Disney “might” look at a petition if it had 500,000 signatures but merging them all together won’t change anything again at the end of the day they all mean nothing to Disney as they don’t pay the staff or the electric bill.

My childhood was watching lilo and stitch on disney until the show stopped. Does that mean that I will cry for them to bring it back? I agree that shutting down club penguin is better than shutting down ph but it’s too late. It’s gone. But it has a special place in our hearts. In other note I think Dawn is right about disney hiding something about closing PH. But if it really is about the kidnap story then I think they made a mistake. All games have 40 year old crazy men who want to kidnap girls (ALL GAMES) not just PH. So why not close the other games too? They ruined the childhood of many kids. But you really have to let it go. My sister is 28 and she is still crying about PH LOL. I doubt disney will bring it back. Disney doesn’t care about what we think, they only care about bussiness. Too bad it took me three years of crying and hoping to realize that:(
I want to help all my childhood i played at these games it’s unfair that they just deleted it i had so many memory’s playing that game that is why i want us to BRING IT BACK!!!!!!
Disney gave its reasons why but I suspect there are more reasons which Disney is not giving us. Several of the moderators I have talked to think there other reasons but nothing more is known. I do know that back in 2007 and 2008 Disney had said more than once that Pixie Hollow would operate and then close one day. They never said when it would close and we may never know if that date was Sept 2013 or did other reasons pop up prompting Disney to close the game which may of had a later closing date. That kid kidnapped or the various lawsuits we have heard about may have forced Disney to close it down sooner rather than later but thing is clear Disney was planning on closing it.

Amy…. Amy Amy Amy…. I’m starting to realize how life works. I know you want it back, trust me I want it too, but you also have to let it go! There is a saying. If you love something let it go, and if it loves you it will come back. Amy you could be doing great things in real life but your over here complaining about a game that will probably not show up. You will be in your 90’s and you will still wonder when the game will come lol. See my point? Don’t lose hope but also don’t get mental about it…

1-Never loose hope. That’s the first thing we should have”hope”.
2-Try to send messages every day to Disney to bring P.H back. We must drive them crazy here, maybe they’ll listen. (and maybe not)
3-Every time you rate a Disney app pick only one star
Most of us have signed the numerous petitions that started just after Pixie Hollow closed. They got some modest support but died out. Doing up a petition is great but Disney never takes them seriously because what can we do…nothing. A few will say lets not buy Disney merchandise and like that is going to hurt Disney’s bottom line because for every one who boycotts Disney there are thousands who do not. Disney parks have been around since the 50’s and are busier now than ever before even with admissions going up every year. Disney understands profits not the hopes and dreams of little girls and boys. You would have to show Disney a viable business plan before they “might” listen to you and I do stress “might”.
I am with you Rilley!!!! Lets do all we can to bring it back! No time to waste! Maybe they if they wont bring PH back what is going to happen to us!!! :O I now have to do some things and later today I’ll tell you what to do to get it back! (try) So who is with me?
