Disney’s Pixie Hollow is No More
Blogging Disney has featured the world of Pixie Hollow on three previous occasions.
In August 2011, I blogged about the Disney Fairies Magazine and the Disney Fairies Fly mobile app: Tinker Bell and Disney Fairies Magazine.
In September 2011, I promoted the TV premiere and home video release of the Pixie Hollow Games movie with links to online games and contests. Pixie Hollow Games, Contests, and More!
And in July 2013, I gave a detailed review of one of my favorite Disney apps: Disney Fairies Fashion Boutique.

Fans of the Disney Fairies franchise have always known the world of Tinker Bell and her friends is more than just movies, magazines and mobile apps: it’s a vast multiplayer online universe where you can create your own fairy avatar, play games, design fashions and interact with thousands of other Tinker Bell fans.
Err, well…it used to be, anyway.
As it happens, Disney shut down the Pixie Hollow online world in September 2013, just two months after I raved about the Disney Fairies Fashion Boutique app (which I came THISCLOSE to spending real $$$ playing). But on September 19th, Pixie Hollow vanished, and along with it, the Disney Fairies Fashion Boutique app.

What about Disney Fairies Fly and the Disney Fairies Magazine? Are they still around? Nope. All gone. Poof. It’s as if they never existed.
Of course, Disney can delete Pixie Hollow from the internet and remove the games from the App Store, but my blog posts are still online. I didn’t even know Disney purged the Disney Fairies universe until I received several comments from readers who couldn’t find the Fashion Boutique in the App Store. The comments were from angry Fairies fans who loved the fashion boutique app but couldn’t download it on new devices and were unable to recover the game after accidentally deleting the original download.
As a Fashion Boutique fan, the frustrations of other gamers inspired me to investigate the vanishing app. The internet isn’t always the easiest place to find things that no longer exist, but after a fair amount of Googling, I found an FAQ explaining Disney’s purge of Pixie Hollow and its related apps.
Unfortunately, the FAQ page is a JPG image, making it inaccessible to screen readers and devices without image support, and the text can’t be read and indexed by search engines. To help the distraught Fairies fans who come to Blogging Disney looking for answers, I’ve copied Disney’s official FAQ below.

Pixie Hollow accounts have now been automatically closed, and can no longer be accessed.
Guests with paid Memberships should have received an email with information about their Membership including refund details. If you have any additional billing-related questions, please contact us at billing@pixiehollow.com or (877) 787-4943. Billing support will no longer be available after November 18, 2013.
Disney Fairies Fashion Boutique has also been removed from the App Store as of September 19, 2013.

I remember waking up on a Saturday extra early just to play this game. It was how I connected with my friends. Pixie Hollow was my absolute favorite game ever. The animations were so beautiful and detailed. Please, please bring back this amazing game. I miss it so so much. I have been trying to use the Pixie Hollow rewritten, but none of them COMPARE. I would love to play this game still, despite being almost 20.

I am absolutely disappointed in Disney. “Mobile online apps”? are you serious?. This HAD to the main game that made the most money and had most people playing around the world. I am 19 now. This game really had a special place in my heart. I was there for the last minutes of pixie hollow, crying. Didn’t want to leave my virtual world friends. Yes, we use our cell phones on a daily basis but online games with a COMPUTER or LAPTOP has literally never changed. ;(

The games you have available are NOTHING compared to Pixie Hollow. The decisions made by Disney sometimes I will never understand. It’s not like it was a fail. Many players loved it. I KNOW waaaaay more people would be active on the website if PH was back! BRING IT BACK!

Got my daughter into Tinkerbell, and shared my joy and love of it…told her all about Pixie Hollow for it to be her first MMORPG.. got her all pumped, because hey, she got my love for Tinkerbell and Pixie Hollow, even my son who is five.. only to find it’s gone… What a shame. Never seen nor placed a game quite like that one, silly to have shut it down. Ask your family and friends to sign the petition. Let’s get it rolling. Do it for the little girls and even little boys who would greatly enjoy it as we had! Not fair!
I was so disappointed when I was going to let my youngest daughter make a character and play the first mmorpg that her older sister did at her age, only to find that it was gone. It was worth so much more than any of the mini games currently on the Disney site.
I didn’t know Pixie Hollow was closed until I tried finding it and I couldn’t. I really wish Pixie Hollow can be played by many users again. PLEASE BRING BACK PIXIE HOLLOW!!! :p We all would be very thankful for it.

I really wish they didn’t shut this down :(( I didn’t even know it was gone until I went to make an account a little while ago just for the fun of it only to discover the game is gone entirely, as well as most of the other disney games I used to play when I was younger. My disappointment is immeasurable.

its me commenting again lmao… also i thought about this…if they took it down for some other reason other than stated..i wonder if they realize, they couldve removed it but made Pixie Hollow an actually game for gaming systems like a PC version, Xbox versions, PS versions and so on and so one. it wouldve greatly benefitted them
i LOVED this game. i was actually looking for something else in my email when i saw an old email about Pixie Hollow and then i was gonna go play then realized its no longer around and started looking into it when i found this…. so sad. im 22 years old and i would STILL play this game had it been still available. and even with their ‘reasoning’ for why it shut down..it still doesnt make sense to take it down? theres something further behind that. bc for example at the same time i used to play that i also played IMVU and IMVU is still around and now that i have a laptop again, i still play it
i really think it would benefit disney SO much if they took a look at how IMVU runs their stuff as far as age groups/ age apporopiate and non AP stuff/ as well as like how u can choose whether or not to see people under age 18 or not and like so on and so on. but i highly believe it would really benefit Disney to bring this back

It’s 6 years later and I still try to visit this site because I miss pixie hollow soo fricken much. Pixie Hollow and the other games on Toontown were way better than these useless games that no one really plays and any other game that they “shifted their focus” on.
