Disney’s Pixie Hollow is No More

Disney’s Pixie Hollow is No More

Blogging Disney has featured the world of Pixie Hollow on three previous occasions.

Tinker Bell

In August 2011, I blogged about the Disney Fairies Magazine and the Disney Fairies Fly mobile app: Tinker Bell and Disney Fairies Magazine.

In September 2011, I promoted the TV premiere and home video release of the Pixie Hollow Games movie with links to online games and contests. Pixie Hollow Games, Contests, and More!

And in July 2013, I gave a detailed review of one of my favorite Disney apps: Disney Fairies Fashion Boutique.

Are you surprised there’s so much happening in the tiny, magical world of Peter Pan’s temperamental fairy sidekick? Don’t be!

Fans of the Disney Fairies franchise have always known the world of Tinker Bell and her friends is more than just movies, magazines and mobile apps: it’s a vast multiplayer online universe where you can create your own fairy avatar, play games, design fashions and interact with thousands of other Tinker Bell fans.

Err, well…it used to be, anyway.

As it happens, Disney shut down the Pixie Hollow online world in September 2013, just two months after I raved about the Disney Fairies Fashion Boutique app (which I came THISCLOSE to spending real $$$ playing). But on September 19th, Pixie Hollow vanished, and along with it, the Disney Fairies Fashion Boutique app.

What about Disney Fairies Fly and the Disney Fairies Magazine? Are they still around? Nope. All gone. Poof. It’s as if they never existed.

Of course, Disney can delete Pixie Hollow from the internet and remove the games from the App Store, but my blog posts are still online. I didn’t even know Disney purged the Disney Fairies universe until I received several comments from readers who couldn’t find the Fashion Boutique in the App Store. The comments were from angry Fairies fans who loved the fashion boutique app but couldn’t download it on new devices and were unable to recover the game after accidentally deleting the original download.

Pixie Hollow Closed

As a Fashion Boutique fan, the frustrations of other gamers inspired me to investigate the vanishing app. The internet isn’t always the easiest place to find things that no longer exist, but after a fair amount of Googling, I found an FAQ explaining Disney’s purge of Pixie Hollow and its related apps.

Pixie Hollow FAQ

Unfortunately, the FAQ page is a JPG image, making it inaccessible to screen readers and devices without image support, and the text can’t be read and indexed by search engines. To help the distraught Fairies fans who come to Blogging Disney looking for answers, I’ve copied Disney’s official FAQ below.

I used to play this game on a daily when i was younger. I would always wait for my mom to say i was aloud to use the computer so I can play this game. Its heartbreaking that they shut it down. I think today’s kids would’ve really liked this game. #BRINGBACKPIXIEHOLLOW

  2. Rae says:

I used to play this game daily as a child and it would be the highlight of my day. I saw a #tweetlikethe2000s post that brought up Pixie Hollow and I was ecstatic to remember. Now learning that such a large portion of my childhood is gone infuriates me. Disney has no real reason to get rid of this game. I don’t think I could miss a game more than this. RIP Pixie Hollow, I hope one day Disney will bring it back.

  3. Tristin says:

I used to play this game everyday and I miss it so much. It was the best game ever and I don’t know why Disney deleted it. BRING IT BACK!

  4. Nisa says:

Was literally the best online game used to play it all the time and had no clue why it just disappeared till now is really devastating i wish they did relaunch it

  5. Rose says:

I wish there was something we could do to bring it back. I recently just sent the company an email. LITERALLY ALL OF US CREATED FACEBOOK PAGES FOR OUR FAIRIES TO TALK TO FRIENDS. Lol

  6. Infinity says:

:/ If only they brought it back I miss this game and I bet a lot of people would still play this game it ws one of the most popular why shut it down..?

  7. Gabrielle says:

I am really sad that Disney Fairies is no longer popular, it’s as if they all disappeared without warning. The Disney Store Canada carries little next to nothing of Disney Fairies merchandise, so you can forget about those figurines. There were also so many other products I didn’t even know existed, like painting your own fairy statues?!?!? Why couldn’t I find that in Canada like, ever? Then of course, Pixie Hollow shut down, I barely had a chance to play it. I am a huge fan of Tinkerbell and her friends, because of the imagination and the beauty of the world they live in, and come on, who wouldn’t want to have any of those magical talents. It’s such a big fantasy world, it saddens me when Disney removes all the merchandise. What happened?

  8. debbie says:

why did it close and I liked it and it sod reopen

  9. Savannah says:

This game needs to come back. I grew up adoring Tinker Bell and loved the game soooooooooooooooo much when i was younger. I’m 17 now and My little sister who is 7 years old is completely infatuated with fairies and when i told her about the Pixie Hollow game and how i was able to create my own fairy and be apart of that fairy world, she desperately wanted to play it and was sadly disappointed when i told her that the game no longer existed. I would give almost any other social media up for Pixie Hollow to come back. Especially for my little sister, who is probably more of a bigger fan for fairies than i ever was when i was little. BRING PIXIE HOLLOW BACK, PLEASE!!!

  10. Onyx Nightfly says:

BRING IT BACK! I am a grown woman but I had 5 fairies and 1 sparrow man. My children and I bonded with this game. We had 2 account that we paid for and we dearly miss it. Disney, you’re all about making money so make it a membership only site. Trust that founding fairing like me would pay the 5.99 we did before to play.

  11. Linds says:

This game should come back in the new year,(2018) even just for a few months! I grew up playing this game and since my younger cousin is really into fairies right now I am reminded just how much I miss this game! I would honestly pay money to play just to show my cousin how fun it was because describing it can’t do it justice!

  12. Arab guy says:

this game was my childhood. I miss it so much and now it only lives in my memories. I’m 19 and I still miss my sparrow man fairy.

  13. Crystal Moonstone says:

i miss this so much, and its been almost 4 years. Pixie Hollow needs to come back- ive not found a single game with such nice graphics and entertainment. I miss it dearly.

  14. Kelly says:

I miss this game so much!! I’ve always loved the Tinker Belle movies (I’m watching one right now) but I cried when they took this game down bc it was my favorite game ever!! I miss it a lot and wish they would bring it back :’(

  15. Dawn says:

FairyABC is all that is available and no amount of wishing is going to make disney bring PH back its gone end of.

  16. OI says:

I miss this game so so so much, it was, as so many have already mentioned, a huge part of my childhood! So much fun and yeah, I do not believe that it can never be brought back there must be a way to do so! or create something similar, hopefully if it never returns fairyabc.com ill get better after a while.

  17. Lin says:

I was watching tinkerbell with my daughter and remembered the account I had and went to look for pixie hollow and found this. So sad

  18. Lau says:

    Petition to bring it back!?!?!

  19. Olivia says:

I’m literally going to cry. Fairyabc is nothing like it, it’s not really that good… I pray that in the future they’ll come back. This game was my childhood! Disney can bring it back… right?

  20. Shelby says:

this was the best game ever…i loved it and i miss it why cant you bring it back im crying over this still

  21. Amy says:

I’ve made up a fairyabc.. It isn’t awesome but at least it’s something.. I’m all white, I can’t find anyone to talk to, i can’t play games or go shopping and i dunno how to get money BUT
I’m sure it’ll get updated lol.. and it’s better than nothing.. heheh..

  22. Nicolle says:

    DO NOT PLAY Fairyabc, it is so dumb it will never be like Pixie Hollow. All you do is click on two things. Don’t bother making an account, it means nothing. You can’t even make your own fairy. “Dawn” is a liar, trying to advertise this makeshift of a website. It’s so sad PH is gone forever. ;-;

  23. Tamia says:

So, I remember when I was like seven and my big brother knew that I loved Tinker Bell. He let me create my own fairy and everything. Sadly, that was the only time I ever played the game. Four years later I’m looking for the game, of course I forgot what it was called so I kept searching create your own fairy. Until, about two weeks ago something called pixie hollow kept popping up and I was like this is the game. Sadly, the more I learned about the game the more my hopes died of ever bein able to play the game again.

  24. oh says:

Guys, who ever sees this. There is a rewrite called FairyABC as Dawn in the comments has been stating.
ph.fairyabc.com will redirect you to the fourms. It’s the closest we’ll probably ever have for a new Pixie Hollow, Please keep in mind this rewrite is still in the works but coding takes a while so 😛 The Original Pixie Hollow is never coming back, just accept it. We’ll get everything from the original in FairyABC in the future I’m sure.

  25. Dawn says:

No it would cost to much to bring back.

  26. Joy says:

Is there a way to convince disney to bring back the virtual world of pixie hollow. I agree thats part of our childhood and why can’t it still be part of our lives =D

  27. Someone says:

    My childhood is gone!!!

  28. Dawn says:

FairyABC is the re-write of Disney’s Pixie Hollow…ITS BACK.

  29. Dawn says:

What are you talking about ??

  30. Dawn says:

You people are missing so much by not joining FairyABC, in some ways its even better than Pixie Hollow but you refuse to come and see for yourselves.

  31. Dawn says:

FairyABC is a rewrite of Pixie Hollow and its the closest thing we have to PH.

  32. Len says:

I remember playing PH many years ago. As a kid, me and my mom would make characters and hangout, and we decided to give me membership on my birthdays. I was there on the day it was shutting down. I begged my parents to play all night, but alas, they said no. I went to bed and the next day it was gone. Since I was a kid, I cried for several hours in my room. Later years my mom began smoking again and she started hating me and yelling at me everyday for one small thing I did wrong. She would abuse me sometimes, but rarely now. Last year, I checked to see if they brought the game back as well as this year, but no luck whatsoever. I also used to play a game called PetPetPark when I was a kid, too.

I would be SO happy if they brought the game back, because ever since the game left I feel like I lost my innocence as a kid. The only ” fun ” online games left for me are Poptropica, and MovieStarPlanet. I used to play them as a child, a swell.

  33. Dawn says:

bring it back, bring it back, bring it back …. please bring it back……… naaaaaaaaaa its gone

  34. Holly moonshine says:

    Bring back Pixie Hollow!!!

  35. BRING IT BACK says:

    BRING IT BACK

  36. Shannon says:

I used to play this everyday with my mom. It bonded us we both had accounts and played together. Then when you shut it down it’s like half of my heart went down the drain. Please bring pixie hollow if if you do my life will happy again. Please do I’ll pay a lot of money to play that again. : (

  37. Gianna says:

    Omg I used to play this game all the time when I was younger! It’s so so that Pixie Hollow and Disney Fairies shut down, it brings back so many memories. I remember the tea cup games and the fashion design and just so many things about it. It’s really sad to think something that made up such a big part of my childhood no longer exists ;-;

  38. Kn says:

I used to love this game and suddenly today I remembered and now it’s gone. This sad.

  39. Karen says:

This is so saddening.. I got the club penguin island app and it’s not too great, so I thought I’d go through memory lane from games I played when I was little… to only find out that it’s been closed for years now… Such a shame, now that I’m older I could actually pay for a membership if that would keep the game alive… I absolutely LOVED playing… I’d play every day..

  40. Li says:

so sad it is, love the game soooooooo mutch…please start it again!!!!

  41. Dawn says:

wasting your time PH is not returning ever.

  42. Lexa Leigh says:

I remember playing Pixie Hollow almost everyday and for sure everyday during the Summer. It’s a shame to here that they haven’t brought it back. That would be the best news ever if they brought it back. I made lots of new friends on the game, it taught me many lessons about friendships, and my friends and I bonded when we played together. If there’s anyway Disney can bring this game back, please do! I’m begging you. I would pay a good amount to be able to play this game again.

  43. amy says:

    TinkerBell, YES IKR
    Adrianna, Me too!

    But well……

  44. Alex says:

I remember playing Pixke Hollow almlst everyday and for sure everyday during the Summer. It’s a shame to here that they haven’t brought it back. That would be the best news ever. I made lots of new friends on the game, it taught me many lessons about friendships, and my sister and I bonded when we played together. If there’s anyway Disney can bring this game back, please do! I’m begging you. I would pay a good amount to be able to play this game again.

  45. Rose says:

I grew up with this game and am devastated to hear it is truly no more…. I remember I’ve always wanted a membership and to look like fawn, I loved fawn so much growing up. And then I couldn’t access pixie hollow nor the Disney art games for years. And when I come back, it’s all gone. I miss pixie hollow so much, but at least the memories stay.

  46. Avery says:

It is very sad that they closed the game I used to play it all the time as well, to the point that i have accumulated so many things in that game.. it was definitely a big part of my childhood and always wills be. I was lucky enough to get to play it again after a couple years of actually no longer playing it about a week before they closed it for good 🙁

  47. Des says:

I used to play this game almost everyday and I made a lot of friends and it was part of who I was growing up. Really sad to see it go, Club Penguin too. I would quit Instagram and Snapchat just to play Pixie Hollow again.
